Description: The Manx Marine Nature Reserve layer shows all of the Isle of Man’s Marine Nature Reserves as at 1st September 2018 (the date of operation) and as designated under the Wildlife Act 1990. The Manx Marine Nature Reserve (Designation) Order (Statutory Document Number 2018/0185) and accompanying Manx Marine Nature Reserves Byelaws (Statutory Document Number 2018/0186) may be found at http://www.tynwald.org.im/links/tls/SD/Pages/default.aspx. A detailed description, including boundary coordinates are contained within the legislation. Boundary descriptions include reference to the 1 and 3 mile limits of the territorial sea which have been officially plotted by the UK Hydrographic Office, with electronic versions and paper charts available from DEFA Fisheries. MNR boundary coordinates, derived from ARCGIS are provide to three decimal places in the legislation. Isle of Man Marine Nature Reserves are all within the 3 nautical mile limit, and cover approximately 51.8% of the 3 mile area and 10.9% of the 0-12 M territorial sea. The MNR designations extend up to the highest astronomical tide level.
